Mr. Gregory, an Air Force veteran and a recent addition to the Chicago area, brings over 30 years of experience to Huntley Consultants.
Mr. Gregory earned the Bachelor of Science degree at California State University Long Beach and earned the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. While at Long Beach, he was inducted into Tau Beta Pi (The Engineering Honor Society) and Eta Kappa Nu (National Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society). Mr. Gregory is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Logistics and Acquisition Management Program, Quality and Reliability Engineering Program, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Program. He is an Army Certified Level III Program Manager, a past Certified Quality Engineer, a member of the Independent Writers of Chicago, and a licensed insurance agent in Illinois.
Before his relocation from Shalimar Florida in September 2005, Mr. Gregory was a licensed Realtor®. He developed and managed a Commercial Properties Division for the Century21 Wilson Minger Agency, Niceville Florida. During his 2 ½ years there, he earned his e-Pro and GRI designations, and designed the agency’s first commercial real estate web site www.century21wmacommercial.com. He wrote the bulk of its content, researched and established links to related sites; located, selected and gained necessary permission for photos used; and maintained the site. He also adapted agency residential transaction documentation and reporting requirements to commercial needs. He recognized the need for a local commercial Multiple Listing Service website and championed it in the Commercial Forum of the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors. His recommendation that the ECAR develop a commercial counterpart to its residential MLS web site was accepted and has been realized. The Emerald Coast Commercial On-line (ECCO) capability began Beta testing in February 2006 and went active in September 2006. Mr. Gregory was a member of the Commercial Committee that developed the policies, procedures and data forms for the website. During this period, Mr. Gregory also researched and prepared hard copy and on-line real estate related marketing information for clients and listings.
Between 1997 and 2003 Mr. Gregory wrote part of several defense contract proposals, one of which was for a contract in excess of $1 Billion dollars (he was on the winning team), and conducted independent studies. One notable study was an evaluation of a client's customer relationship management model that was followed by suggested changes designed to take advantage of the internet's potential. Another was an evaluation of business opportunity web sites that included recommendations for strengthening the effectiveness of a client’s business opportunity search methodology.
From 1971 to 1997, as a U.S. Army employee and defense contractor, he routinely prepared and evaluated electronics related specifications, test procedures, and program planning documents such as budgets and schedules; and evaluated contractor prepared proposals and marketing information. His assignments included staff engineering, field test and evaluation, program management for the Secretary of the Army, and project management. During his last assignment before retiring from Defense work in 1997, Mr. Gregory researched and wrote a critical analysis of helicopter rotor-blade induced RF distortion and its effect on GPS receivers.
Before relocating to the Chicago area, Mr. Gregory was the Treasurer of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 72 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He has written a novel and several short stories. |
